Project Reflection

I created my own mold of a submarine, the goal was to create a remote control submarine to use in a pool. The materials that I used were a computer app called 123D Design and a 3D makerbot printer. I only used two tools a computer and a 3D printer. The hardest part was realizing that I will only be able to a create fro no because the goal was to create a working submarine. Although, the most fun part was creating and actually seeing my idea come out just the way I wanted it to. I learned how hard this project was and how long a process takes. If there was one change I would make I would make it large enough to fit my GoPro inside the submarine.

This project was a great experience for me. Last year at this time I was finishing my remote control car and now I am taking thin the new calling of creating a remote control submarine. The goal was to finish it by the end of the semester but I now realize the project is much bigger than I expected. I am now just finishing my model for the project and later in the year will finish the entire submarine. Just for now though I have added on an GoPro extension and hope to finish soon.

We completed using a humming bird arduino board to create a tank. The tank has lights are inside the front nozzle that light up in the colors, red, yellow and orange. The computer creates a firing sound that we up loaded from the internet. Also, we attached a distance sensor so that when it is far away from something, it will go forward but if it is too close to something it will go in reverse. All this is shown in the video below.

Makey Makey Experiment

Today we took a makey makey board and attached ground cords to it. Then we took some conductive play-doh and attached it to the ground cords and CONGRATULATIONS! The arrow keys and space/click keys work like magic. All you have to do is attach a ground cord to your self by touching someone else. It then shows up on the computer screen and works like the arrow keys and mouse.

Remote Control Camera Car

This project is going to be able to move with a remote control and when it's out of my view I can turn on the monitor that will show me the view from the car.

The materials I will need are an Arduino board, a small camera, a monitor, a video transmitter four rolling wheels, a programming transmitter to tell the wheels to spin forward, back and turn left and right.

I will need help finding the materials and getting a camera to transmit a signal wirelessly to a monitor

The project that I have decided to make is a remote control car that has a camera attached to it so that I can see where it's going if it's out of my visual view entirely. I will need a a receiver to transmit the image from the camera to a monitor to see where the car is going.

Arduino LED Light Fixtures

Today we learned how to program our arduino board to tell our led light to blink, and fade. To get it to blink we plugged the led's cords into the ground and 13 units on the arduino board and downloaded it from the arduino application and the led on the board started to blink. Next, we got it to fade by plugging the cords on the led light into the ground and 9 units on the board and went into the arduino application and went into fade and changed the settings to get it to fade slower and quicker.
